Microscope video of a DMOF-1 metal-organic framework crystal non-covalently loaded with a diarylethene photochrome guest. The mixed crystal is irradiated with a pulse of UV light at approximately 27 sec at which point the crystal turns dark red. The colored molecules within the crystal slowly revert back to their colorless state due to absorption of the white light from the microscope.
