We take a look at the top stocks as suggested by David Paul, MD of VectorVest UK to have in your portfolio. First taking a look at the market health.
Looking at the VectorVest composite (which is a composite of all the shares that VectorVest follow); the short term and longer trend are both down. David tells us that this is a sign to remain calm and not trade until at least the short term trend eases up. The market timing indicator shows that it is moving in to an oversold situation. The low of last Friday is looking quite strong, however with the trends being down, if the low were to fail the market could move much lower.
In the meantime David takes us through some of the best stocks to put in to your portfolio. First off David looks at Gleeson (GLE.L), a small niche builder, building inexpensive homes in the centre of England. They have lots of plans moving in to 2018 onward. The technical picture of the chart shows that the VectorVest valuation is much higher than the current market price, meaning that the stock is very undervalued. Earnings per share growth is steadily building, and as David says that Earnings per share growth is the engine that grows the share price.
David then moves on to take a look at the rest of the stocks to put in the portfolio. He discusses the latest with Stobart Group (STOB.L), Volex Group (VLX.L), CYBG PLC (CYBG.L), Games Workshop (GAW.L). David discusses the fundamental and technical outlook for the stocks and discusses why you should have them in your portfolio.
