Why do so many Day Traders Lose Spread Betting the FTSE

03:23
Lose Money? http://www.spread-betting.com/day-traders-lose-spreadbetting Why do so many spread traders lose money betting on the FTSE 100? It is a brutal reality that very few day traders succeed not least because the market is stacked against you. It is not hard to learn technical analysis and put the odds in your favour but the real challenge is to control your emotions. You buy the FTSE 100 Index at 5200 at £10 per point and a 20 point stop-loss. Your aim is to exit at 5210 to make £100, but you decide to keep the spread trade going because the FTSE is still rallying. 10 minutes later it has gone to 5250 and you are patting yourself on the back thinking 'great, I'm 500 quid up'. After some time the FTSE drops back to support at 5220 and your exhilaration is substituted by sheer disappointment. You remain in the trade because after all you are still £200 up and the market is likely to move back up. You're so much expecting the market to go up that you don't move your stop up so as to breakeven. Suddenly the FTSE spikes down to 5195 and you are now in negative territory...yet the FTSE is still going down. You don't want to gulp the loss so you move your stop down further just to avoid getting stopped out. The market hits your original stop loss level at 4880 but you still think the market will reverse so you average down with another £10 per point to capitalise on the recovery uptick that seems underway. But wait -- it is just a blip and the market falls another 25 points. You are in it BIG now, can't afford to be wrong, so you keep on moving your stop down below the next support and double down to £40 per point.

34. Why Most Traders Lose Money and The Solution

03:02
http://www.autoforexbiz.com A lesson on the importance of money management in trading and how most traders of the stock, futures, and forex markets ignore money management because they do not consider it important and therefore loose money trading. Why the Majority of Traders Fail In our last lesson we finished up our series on Candlestick Chart Patterns with a look at the Inverted Hammer and the Shooting Star Candlestick Chart Patterns. In today's lesson we are going to start a new series on money management, the most important concept in trading and the reason why most traders fail. Over the last several years working in financial services I have watched hundreds if not thousands of traders trade, and over and over again I see smart people who have been intelligent enough to accumulate large sums of money in their non trading careers open a trading account and loose huge sums of money making what you would think are easily avoidable mistakes that one would think even the dumbest traders would avoid. Those same traders are the ones that consider themselves too good or smart to make the same mistakes that so many others make, and that will skip over this section to get to what they feel is the "real meat" of trading, strategies for picking entry points. What these traders and so many others fail to realize is that what separates the winners from the losers in trading is not how good someone is at picking their entry points, but how well they factor in what they are going to do <b>...</b>

We Are Traders - A Tribute to All Those Trading the Markets

01:32
OpenTrader http://www.opentrader.com We traders and active investors are a largely misperceived breed. Our profession / discipline is also misunderstood. Trading, whether that of Forex, Futures, Stocks, Bonds or Options, is usually viewed as gambling by the public. It's seen as a way to get rich quick through luck. But there's so much more to it than meets the eye. Legitimate daytraders, swing traders, and active investors are true masters of their craft, rising above human nature to churn out profits consistently from the market. Just like great artists, athletes, and professionals train years to become proficient, so do great traders, honing their skills of analysis, risk control, and mental discipline to gain an edge in the markets. While doing so they also benefit the economy by adding liquidity. Despite this, the independent trader and investor is in an industry where his/her needs are unrecognized and unmet. Our goal is to change that by addressing their needs like never before. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwKYjZ_8EcE

Learn More: http://www.dowscalping.com Successful trading is as much about managing your losses and keeping them small as it is about winning. If you can identify the market and make sure to lose less on difficult days (not fight it), you give yourself the chance to recover and make money with easy trades. Do not get emotional about a losing trade but manage it, accept it, embrace it because it's all part of financial speculation. If you can do this then you are sure to be in this business for a very long time to come.

Understanding Short Selling | by Wall Street Survivor

What is short selling? Join our March Trading Contest for your chance at over $8000 in prizes: https://app.wallstreetsurvivor.com/registerto/MarchMarketMoversReport?utm_source=MarketMoversReport&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=MarchContest Most people think of investing as buying a stock (or other asset) and making money when its price goes up - but it’s also possible to make a profit when a stock price goes down. This process is called short selling (or shorting). Short selling isn’t all peaches and cream. There are opportunities for high returns, but as usual, these come with high risks. The big risk here is that there is no limit to your losses. When you buy a stock, you can only lose the amount that you invested. But when you short, your losses are infinite because there is theoretically no end to how high a stock’s price can rise. Short selling isn’t for everyone. It requires a lot of time and research, and a desire for high risks and high returns. Short selling is primarily used for speculator looking to make a profit when the market goes down or investing looking to hedge their position. How to Trade Cards | Pokemon

01:30
Watch more Pokemon Trading Cards videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/497216-How-to-Trade-Cards-Pokemon Learn how to trade Pokemon cards from the Pokemon Trading Card Game pros at Comic Cafe in this Howcast video. Hi, I'm Joe D'Andrea, a Pokemon professor at Comic Cafe in Warren New Jersey, and we're here to show you how to play the Pokemon trading card game. So more often than not, if you're trading Pokemon cards — after all it's a trading card game — you're going to trade cards for cards. Now you don't have to trade the same card for the same card, of course, because that's rather silly. Instead you want to trade cards of similar value, and again this is a value you both agree to before the trade takes place. When you're looking at cards to trade, look for signs of mintness, how new is the card? Of course, if it's just come out of the pack, and you saw them take it out, then you know it's brand new. Things to look for, though, would be like frayed edges that might tell that your card has been played a lot. If the edges are white, they may have been taped on the table a bit. If it's a bit flimsy or if it's even bent, all of these things lower the value of the card. If you're trading in a league, you should check with your league leader first to make sure it's a good trade, and second to have them look at the trade to see if it's a fair one. Do not be pressured into making a trade you do not want to make, and always be polite and respectful with your fellow trader. Giving up your cards is never a consequence of winning or losing at a Pokemon trading card game, be it league or tournament.

Capital Spreads: Winning Traders versus Losing Traders

01:18
Winning Traders versus Losing Traders. http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/strategies/advice-pros.html Angus of Capital Spreads comments. The main thing that separates winning traders from losers is discipline. Losing clients tend to move stop losses when a market goes against them whch is an ill strategy to have. Winners understand how much they're willing to risk on each trade. Successful traders have a trading strategy that they know inside-out and they stick to that strategy every time and stay disciplined.

Rogue trader at UBS loses $2 billion

A 'rogue trader' at UBS has lost $2 billion. Police announced they've arrested a suspect. The bank was bailed out by the Swiss government in 2008 and has come under investigation for aiding US tax evaders. This is just the latest in a long history of rogue trading. Nick Leeson sunk the UK's Barings Bank in 1995. The banks are as much to blame. They haven't placed sufficient controls on their employees. Big Money Losing - burning through their capital. 2. Break Even financial Results - an expensive Hobby, at best. 3. So-so Income, about the same as their current job, from say $25K to $75K, not much more. I help clients solve these problems - fast (in months, not years). How, you might ask? Given that day traders have discovered the above problems, the hard way - suffering both financially and emotionally - they now know nothing they have done or can do (no matter how many books, courses, or so-called experts, including unqualified coaches they've invested in) has, or will, bring about a solution to any of these problems. For many these problems have manifest over the years to where they are now experiencing as a crises. Traders (day traders, swing traders, and investors) frequently tell me that they must find a solution, a way to produce big money winning (the expectation norm, for most), or they will just quit trading stocks. Over 90% of stock traders (the annals are loaded with similar and worse reports) find themselves frustrated, then angry, then really pissed off and out of balance emotionally to do anything but quit, or go on bleeding money in the markets. A sad and unnecessary state of trading that I remedy; but it requires change, lots of change. So, allow me to give you a few hints of what you need to change - to become a Big Money Winner: 1. Stop trading On Your Own - learn to day trade only with a Master Day Trading Coach (much like world-class tennis players do with their coach, and the best golfers do with a Pro (coach). 2. Change your day trading Game - the game has changed, and so must you. Your coach will help you change just about every aspect of your day trading game: your online stock trading perspective (from a pervasive focus on the Money while day trading, to whatever it takes to Win stock trading; day trading Strategies; day trading Systems; gain a new passion and commitment for Big Money Winning, day trading stock, (again) NEW School - quickly displacing all old-school thinking and action. 3. Practice endlessly with the Best - other Winners in out Day Trading Room, and of course, with your Master Day Trading Coach, every step of the way toward Big Money Winning, then Wealth Building Winning. Sounds sort of simple, yes? It's far from simple - it's going to take a lot of change, and that means a lot of work practicing new, Winning day trading distinctions (rules, techniques, day trading tips), day trading strategies, day trading systems - for winning, Big Money Winning. Spread Trading: Managing Losing Trades

02:24
Losses http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/strategies/losing-positions.html When spread betting expect losses! Losses are a normal part of trading and recognising that you will have losing trades is the first step towards controlling your emotions. Each time you open a new trade, you need to imagine the market going against you, hitting your stop loss and you losing that money in the process. If you feel comfortable (can anyone feel comfortable with losses?, but well that's the best way we could put it) with that loss, then you are already half way to keeping your emotions under control.

Rules, Tips and Secrets for Successful CFD Traders

04:51
What do the successful CFD traders http://www.contracts-for-difference.com/ do differently? Some of the rules that successful day traders use are familiar to all traders. Others may be contrary to the common beliefs. Rule 1: Don't follow the crowd Rule 2: Block out other opinions Rule 3: When you're not sure, stand aside Rule 4: Try to avoid market orders Rule 5: Trade divergence between related commodities When trading commodities, watch the 'families': grains, the meats or the metals. When you spot a wide divergence in a group, it could signal a trading opportunity. For example, if all grains except soybeans were moving higher, sharp traders would look for an opportunity to sell soybeans as soon as the grains in general appeared to be weakening. The reverse of this is true also. The traders would buy the strongest commodity in the group during periods of weakness. Rule 6: Trade the opening range breakout This is a good price-direction clue, particularly after a major report. A break out of the opening range may tell you the direction of trading for the day or the next several days. If the market breaks through the opening range on the high side, go long. If it breaks out on the bottom side of the opening range, go short. Rule 7: Trade the breakout of the previous day's range This rule is used by many successful traders to decide when to establish or lift a position. It means never buy until the price trades above the previous day's close, or never sell until the price trades below the previous day's close. Momentum traders commonly use this rule as they believe that the weight in the market is in their favour when they wait for trading to break out of the previous day's trading range before adding to their position. Rule 8: Trade a weekly breakout This rule is similar to the daily rule, except it is used on weekly highs and lows. A break of the weekly range can be seen as a signal of the trading direction for several weeks to come and can therefore be considered a stronger signal. Rule 9: Trade a breakout of the monthly range The longer the period you're watching, the more the market momentum behind your decision. So monthly price breakout are an even stronger clue to price trends and are vitally important for the position trader or hedger. When the price breaks out on the topside of the previous monthly high, it's a buy signal. When the break out is on the bottom side of a previous monthly low, it's a sell signal.
