It is contained in a thin, fibrous capsule and found right under the skin. A lipoma is typically not tender and moves around easily with slight pressure. A lipoma is not cancerous and treatment generally is not necessary. There is also a condition called familial lipomatosus, where people develop multiple lipomas, especially on the arms and legs, and other family members have these growths as well. If the lipoma is on a pressure-bearing area, it may create discomfort and this is when people seek removal. People also request removal because they don’t like the appearance of these bumps. Often a small incision can be made over the lipoma and they can be “popped” out easily. This is a simple in-office surgical procedure under local anesthesia. Wow!! What a life changer this surgery was for this guy! It is amazing work to relieve such a burden (both physical and social) that he had to deal with. I'm very glad for him. Great job Dr. Lee. Side note, I was really surprised she didn't set up a drain for him as she closed him up, it was clear that there would be a lot of bleeding going on. Thankfully it only caused discomfort and swelling for a while and nothing worse.

Lo que no me gusta es que les hace unas cicatrices muy feas, incluso abre donde es muy pequeño y en áreas que se ven mucho y deja fuertes cicatrices

I know this was posted 2 years ago but I am blown away by this. Dr. Sandra Lee you are amazing! You do this with such grace and so did your patient. You’re making me less afraid of incisions because that’s always been one of my squeamish issues but now after watching a majority of your content I’m finding myself watching so many more. Not just because it’s so bizarre and satisfying but it’s also therapeutic. This actually helps me sleep (I know I’m so weird). Just amazing work and changing so many lives. Love you!

That was not a scale. It is a postal scale and $12.21 is how much it would cost to ship it. Please invest in a cheap set of scales or learn the setting on your meter to state weight.

You are such a Godsend for all of your patients, but especially for this man. He now can relax & not feel like people are staring. Hopefully, because of your tender caring ways, he will not be so reluctant to see other doctors in the future. He stated he didn't like doctors & needles. I think you have helped him get beyond much of that. In addition to getting rid of his Quasimodo hump he is a new man. Dr. Lee you are an artist. Great job as always. I would have thought something like his situation would have needed general anesthesia in a hospital setting. Wow !!!
