I almost made my mind up on purchasing 6 x XFX RV 580 8 GB cards to setup my rig tomorrow and saw this. Do you reckon I should opt for 480s if I can get my hands on any ? Or 570s because they would consume less power?
any of them are good as long as you are not overpaying too much. 580s are newer so if i had to get some today, i would probably opt for 6 new 580s rather than 6 used 480s. 570s are good if you can get them for considerably cheaper than the 580s... that being said, remember that NVidia is coming out with new cards end of july, so depending on how they perform... that might change things a bit
thanks mate. 4xx series is hard to get, and the 5xx series is starting to drop to a normal price here in Aus. i have been debating what to get and have now decided, but will diffently grab some rx480s if i find some at good prices!
I have bought a sapphire nitro+ rx 570 8GB (Samsung Memory)
Modded with SRBPolaris...
coppied strap 1625 to upper (to 1750 and 2000)...
PolarisBiosEditor cant read my rom...
after that i tried to overclock memory clock and underclock core clock and undervolt...
If I overclock the memory above 2000 MHz system fails...
I underclocked core to 1100 MHz...
Undervolted to 150 mV...
and i could only get 23 MHs in Ethereum mining...
I've tried some other clock speed and volts...
none of those worked...
Need help with this...
Let me know if anyone know which straps to edit and what is the preferred core and memory clock and volt...
Thanks in advance...
I do 750H/s with my rx 580 LE on nanopool XMR. Just voltage tweak 1450/2200 and no bios mod. 100W gpu only power draw (gpu-z). Is it good? Can I decrease GPU clock or is important like memory clock? thanks.
Hello guys I am having trouble with my RX 580 4gb pulse rig . I flashed it months ago and it worked like a charm , but today i had a power problem so they were shut down by force ... after power came i turned them on but my hashrate drops from 28 to 1 in all cards i tried unistalling drivers with ddu and reinstalling changed claymore reconnected the cables and everything but the problem is still the same
Cryptomined i will first now get two rx550 4GB for an old computer with 420w (good psu) and run nicehash on that. On the nicehash there is a list and rx550 says it makes 0.70 a day so two of those will be probably like one rx570. Than on a newer pc with 620w gold psu i will put my 980ti and get two rx580. Is that ok combo? Im thinking about the rx550 because one is 110 euro but the 470 570 580 are over 260 euro here. So if i can get 40% of the hashing power of one 570 or 580 it will pay off itself faster. Right? Or the nicehash gpu list is no way near correct?
Hey guys can someone give me some advice. Currently I am taking 30.5 Mh/s without any OC with my R9 390x. Why are these 580 and 570s not doing well in mining? Do you think they will do any better in the future with new driver updates? Thanks for the video.
hello!!!! I have a xfx radeon rx 580 8gb card I had mine ZCASH with claymores 12.6 and suddenly the following error appeared in red:
GPU # 0 returned incorrect data!
GPU # 0 returned incorrect data!
GPU # 0 returned incorrect data!
GPU # 0 returned incorrect data!
GPU # 0 returned incorrect data!
I need help please! I have tried many things and nothing!
id have to look again, but i think it was about 630 per card, so yeah you would get about 3600+ for xmr.
but 1 vega 64 will do 2000... so it will be better to et 3 or 4 vega 56 or 64 cards and net 7000-8000. personally just bought 2 vega 64s for a desktop of mine, those will give 4000 which is better than 6 480s can do. on some of my 580s i can get over 800 per card, i guess due to higher clocks, but even then, 580 8g now costs about 350$ where vega 64 costs about 500+... so much better to stick with vega if your building an xmr rig
For some reason I have 20.9 MH/s on my Sapphire rx 580s with out of the box settings, but after modding i get 19.0 MH/s. My Motherboard bios for z270/a prime is updated, windows 10 is updated, I'm using recommended settings for gpus and claymore, my internet speed is kind of slow, 250kb/s downloads, all 8 gpus bios are updated, patched and modded correctly. Not sure how many pins i should hook up to gpu's though, got 8 pin vga on them. Also wanted to ask if hashrate could drop depending on slow internet speed? Thanks for reading and hopefully helping me out!
Hello cryptomined. I need a favor, can you send me original file bios from rx 570 sapphire pulse 4g. Because i lost the backup from this device. Another question, what problem i must have with card if hashrate is 0.00 mh and show error amd notify and freeze the pc. The card start without problems but when init claymore mining bumpppp problems
What driver are you using? Could you please help? I get randomly gpu hangs in opencl call errors.... sometimes after 1 hour sometimes after 40 hours... I would really need help because people are saying on forums to try with stock settings.. well if I try it, then the error message still comes up so I think it should be rather a motherboard or vga driver issue.. I changed the risers and that solved nothing.. MOst of the time GPU 1 hangs in opencl mode, somtimes GPU 4... if I change up the risers with neighbours still the GPU 1 hangs in opencl call for the most times... I am really out of ideas.
msi Z170A GAMING M5, 4GB ram, 7x sapphire rx570 pulse 4GB, 60GB ssd, 2x 750W EVGA (G2 and G3)
Please help me out somehow!
I just want ONE freaking RX580 with 8GB VRAM.
Not for mining or something like this, but mostly for rendering and gaming purposes. Sure, gaming may not be as "important as mining", but playing games with an seven years old card just sucks. (and photo/Video rendering with an quad core)
Now, only the really overpowered high end cards are still at "normal" prices, so i actually have to go with something like a GTX1080 Ti even when ill never max out the card.
But i dont want to pay 400+$ for an 230$ card.
Hey Cryptomined! I just got a couple of GPUs model Sapphire 570 Nitro+ 8 gb Hynix with 21 mh stock settings, this is pretty frustrating as the most I have been able to get out of them is 25 mh/s after testing over 15 mods. I have been using dirvers ver 17.5.1 and 17.5.2. Do you think is there hope for those card to get 27-28 mhs at least?
I have tried anything now. My results are not so good I need our help guys please.
3 Rx 570 + 2 Rx 470 are going well now! BUT when i try to install the
last GPU (Rx 470) and then restart.. the Pc start normal until the
Windows Logo and then restart by itself continuously and i can't go into
Can some one help me please? THANKS A LOT GUYS
can you pls give me compatible hardware details for it/
i am planning build one
i have 6* SAPPHIRE NITRON + RADEON RX 580 8GB 256-Bit cards ready, i need other hardware details
i will donate you some eth for your tip,
Dude , you are life saver . But currently the problem is , rx480 is being discontinued by AMD and is not available in stock or available at much higher price then originally it was introduced in.... whats the solution to this , where should i buy the 480s ?
Your help would be much appreciated .
for me, a r9 290 for 150€makes more sense. i have one for gaming and i tried mining, on stock speed i get 26 - 27mh and 190watt. still a little bit better than an rx 470 for 190€ and like 130watt or whatever.
Hello, i just built a rig 4 rx 570 strix oc 4gb i'm using the latest driver (17.5.2) with calyomre 9.4 in windows 10 but it keeps shutting off the pc every hour or less, do you know what could be the problem? i tried to use 1 750 g3 gold psu but though it wasn't enough and that it might be undervolting so i'm using 2 of those now, still same issue.. thanks
How big is the Difference between 4GB's vs 8GB's mh/s ? and about which motherboard to go for right now as most of Good /famous for mining are out of stock , please tell me so i can go a buy them
:) Thanks :)
ETH will surpass BTC market cap by the end of the year or sooner, which should happen once ETH's price reaches $410/ETH. It's not rocket science as all big, medium, and small corporations are starting to implement ETH smart contracts into their day to day businesses. This is something that nobody that i have read, saw or even listened to has talked about. Buy/Mine ETH!
here is the link for all those people looking for the bios mod for sapphire RX 570 nitro + OC 4gb and 8gb.....30 mega hash
Just flash the 580 with a 480 bios and you will get exactly the same performance on the 580 card as the 480 card. First, get VRM and undervolt the 580 without doing anything else (running the voltage on the 580 the same as the 480 should work fine) which will allow you to get the same watts per clock.
I found the cheapest GTX 1060 3GB to be the same price as the cheapest RX 570 4GB in one site. For what I read the nVidia is more economical but hashes less - for Zcash maybe roughly the same, but for ETH - at least 10-15% less, so if we add "versatility" the buying choice equation becomes even more complex. I don't take today's profitability as a baseline , because it is huge and will 100% decrease in near future. I would love to see a recent comparison between a 1060 and 570.
As a matter of fact I did find one comparison between 1060 and 470 for Zcash specifically. it is in russian which I understand partially, but enough to get the sense. they both get 270 - 275 sols stock.
I'm in the process of building my first rig, but as has been noted in the comments here, the 400 series cards have pretty much dried up. I was able to get my hands on 6 of the 8GB 580 series for a reasonable price and won't have to pay for electricity where it's set up... Undervolting and overclocking will be a new experience for me, but I'm curious if each one pulls somewhere around 115 watts, will a 1000 watt power supply work? Thanks, I enjoy your videos!
response from nicehash: "regarding card; that depends on el. costs; if low or zero, go for amd, else go for nvidia"
so they say if your electric cost is low, go for 570 or 480, if its high electric cost, get nvidia
people mine for a few reasons.. first is generally to make a profit, as these "coins" that you can mine can be sold for cold hard cash. Second is for personal investment, as since you can sell them for cold hard cash, you can mine them at a great discount instead of paying the market price for them at any given time... you can also store them and save them, if you choose wisely they may appreciate a great deal (as we are pioneers still in this field.. we are the early adpoters.. so if they get accepted by wider audiences or by the masses, the value of such said coin could literally skyrocket.), so its a bit of a speculative outlook in that sense. Third is just for a hobby and something to do :)
blockchain technology is starting to gain widespread use by corporations and even governments... we know the money we print can be inflated very easily. most of these coins have a limited supply over time, and limited rate of creation (unlike paper money which can be printed in any amount at any time)
There are so many points one could go over, but those are a few to get you thinking.
Ethereum is a special "coin" if i could even call it that - its smart contracts... its decentralized applications... its a network... one day you will take an uber ride... and you will pay using ethereum contracts... but you wont even know you are using ethereum... its uses like this that make it so valuable - and the same with many other modern day cryptocurrencies. The wise will have an ownership in what is going on, while the masses will just use it.
IF I could get the XFX RX 480 8GB for $240 and the MSI RX 580 8GB for $230 What should I go with? Ive been reading over on bitcoin fourms they found a workaround for 6-7- 8 rx 580 so they are seen in windows, and also claims of 130 watts at 30 mh/s. All the 470s are dried up aside from the XFX RS but at max I get 26 mh/s stable on elpida mem. I really need your thoughts before I decide to take the plunge. So we have MSI RX 580 8GB for $230, XFX RS RX 480 8GB $240 and XFX RS RX470 4GB for $175.
Well that bios update was needed xd Ive tried different risers in the slots and directly plugging in the cards. Ill just have to fiddle with it some more im thinking, something in bios needs tweaked. Im hopeful to get it to work. Others have then im sure there is a way. If not I could also buy a different motherboard that has been confirmed working I did see one person with MSI Z270-A worked with the 580s. They are knew so im sure we will here more about them soon. Worse comes to worse I could set up 4 gpus per rig and have 3 rigs instead of 2 and upgrade them later when updates come in
now that I think back, i remember one fellow emailed me and told me that he bought a ton of boards direrctly from MSI, and forced their hand in making the bios update... I guess he is responsible for hte z170-A bios update to support more GPUs. I never heard back from him after he informed of it the first time though so i forgot until now :)
It is the MSI Z170-A Pro Carbon, When it first came out it couldnt support more than 4, back in december there was bios update for multiple GPU support. Ive seen this is what people have been using, but it seems like its hit and miss sometimes it works for people others it doesnt.
Very helpful video!! Where I live electricity is very cheap and was thinking of making a rig with x7 R9 Furys but they're getting hard to find, I've been super excited for Vega but idk if it's worth the wait anymore, do you know if they'll be out anytime soon? It would surprise me the release of Vega anytime soon since the 500s just came out. What would you advice me to to? Thanks a lot!! I love your videos
you probably could in ubuntu, but I dont think anyone has gotten 6 580s to work in windows. you would have to downclock and undervolt them slightly though. getting a 1300G2 will give you lots of headroom, and ability to mine more intensive coins in the future if you decide to switch to another coin.
Magnr is a handy cross-platform trading site connected to a few big Bitcoin exchanges. Accounts never require any personal data or identitiy proof. So signup is quick and possible with anonymous data.
Leverage is available at Kraken up to 5x for several cryptocurrency pairs, including bitcoin. The fees are depending on the volume of the margin account.
Bitcoin can be traded on GDAX up to 5x leverage. The margin trading option must be manually turned on the account in order to make sure the users understands and reads the associated risks.
Margin trading is basically borrowing funds to purchase an asset, this allows you to buy more bitcoins that you would normally be able to do normally in the hope of making bigger profits on the price movements.
Advantages of Margin Trading.
The biggest benefit of margin trading is that you can take advantage of the additional funds when the market moves in the direction you expected. The overall profit of the positions once the bitcoins are soled and the loan is repaid is significantly higher compared to an ordinary trade execution.
Disadvantages of Margin Trading.
The disadvantage of margin trading is by nature the amount of risk a margin account can hold. The higher amount of leverage you take the bigger amount of money you can loose in case the market moves in an unfavorable way. Due to the margin call, the margin account must be funded countinuesly that involves significant amount of liquidity. It is only advisable to trade on marking if you have enough experience already on the market. To mitigate the associated risk, many trading platforms only offers limited amount of leverage trading opportunites.
