Hello Ronald Stout. This really isn't a tech support forum. But since your post is new, let me point you. At first hear, I would say you are in graphics mode, you need to switch to compute. If not that simple, common stumbling block, it is beyond me. You can try techpowerup.com, tomshardware.com, GitHub, Anorak, there are many, many sources to educate yourself. It is a very specific challenge, best of luck. Cheers.
Hi Voskcoin, I would like to ask for help, the problem is i used to Mine, and now that crypto is going down, i am selling my GPU's. So to summarize all things, i have restored back my Bios to the original since i have back up on it. I tried on my PC and everything is back. But when the buyer tries it to his PC, the modded bios is the one showing in GPUz..how will i fixed it to a completely orig BIOS? please help. Thanks
Hey guys can someone help me? When I installed the bios mod to my 570, it doesn't let me go to my motherboard bios but it shows the windows desktop. But everytime I open or restart the system, It doesn't show anything not even the windows 10 loading screen. It only shows the welcome screen. Please help. BTW my HDMI monitor is connected to my card. Thanks
I have the choice of Radeon™ RX 580 ARMOR MK2 8G OC, the 570 8G version and a Gigabyte RX 580 Gaming 8G - all the same price - what should I go and why? I have two second hand Gigabytes already but happy to swap them out over time - 480 8G and 570 4G. Thanks!
I have 1 rx 470 4gb and a rx 580 8gb. The rx 470 gets near 30 MH/s on ethereum. The rx 580 gets only 25.6 MH/s on ethereum. Why? Bios modding didn't seem to make a difference. Also, the rx 580 8gb (MSI Armor MK2) shows Samsung for index 1, Hynix for index 2, and Micron for index 3. Is that common?
You failed to mention in your video that such modding void your warranty and it can brick your GPU. Also you can use in the drivers settings the option COMPUTE and your AMD will mine at 31 more or less.
Dont get me wrong, I enjoy you video and all, but you have a responsibility towards your followers.
P.S. I am glad Tail is doing better
VoskCoin, I am new to mining and really have done this much work on a computer in a long time. So everything has been a learning curve for me. Well, I thought I'd give this a try, seems easy enough. Well, I've bricked my Asus Rog Rx 570 4g OC. And I've tried every method to figure out a way to fix it with no avail. I need help trying to figure out what to do to get the original bios back on the card. Gpu-z recognizes the card in my system as a Microsoft Adapter. ATIWinFlash says Can Not Find Discrete ATI Video Card. And when I try ATIFlash in Dos, it gives me error 0FL01 Adapter Not Found. I tried resetting my whole computer with a fresh install of windows. I used DDU to uninstall all drivers and reinstall them. When installing the block chain drivers it says that it found the AMD card. I've pretty much have tried everything at this point.
John Gosselin I was going to try that but haven't because I haven't been able to find a good thread online or video that properly shows you how to do that technique and I don't want to burn a chip up or something doing something I'm not supposed to be doing
I have Google all these techniques and have been trying now for 2 days to unbrick this GPU. So I am looking for a new technique to help me try to get this car to be recognized when it's plugged into the PCI slot. I'm using a separate Rick with a motherboard with three different slots for graphic cards to be on the motherboard and none of them will recognize the card
Great Vid, However, when I try load my saved original Bios into PolarisBiosEditor I get a warning message that says ''This bios is none standard size. Flashing your bios may corrupt your graphics card.'' then I click ''OK'' then nothing loads. and I get error message saying ''unhandled exception has occurred in your application. Requested range extends past the end of the array'' Please help.
Do you have a onboard video ?
If yes follow those steps
Remove bricked card
connect monitor to onboard video
Go to BIOS and make sure video settings is set for the onboard you want it to IGP not PEG.
Save and reboot
download latest version of DDU
Install DDU and run as admin
First time go to the options and check mark the safe mode run
Close DDU and run again as admin
Select run in safe mode
It will boot windows in safe mode, then click first option, dont recall the exact words.
Will then ask you to reboot
Make sure you removed your AMD drivers from the computer, or else it might re install
once this is done power off your computer and put back the bricked gpu and reboot
should show again as windows generic.
Flash back the old bios and reboot
re install drivers and appply pixel patch
Hope this help
Hey Vosk, always love the videos bud. I am currently building a Vega 56 rig that I would like to run on SMOS. If I bios mod it in windows and then bring the card over to SMOS will the bios remain? Or do I need to do something different to run bios modded cards on SMOS? Thanks in advance!
Just subed to your channel. I get loads of info and thank you for that!! I'm just started ordering parts to build my first rig and I'll be using rx550's on Monero. I read you get better hash rate using Linux, however, it's easier to bios mod in windows. Is it possible to bios mod in windows and then install the card into a Linux rig? What would be your advise? Like everyone else, i'm trying to get the maximum hash out of these 550's. (I'm on a budget, so I'm getting one card at at a time as I can afford them).
Hi thanks for ur very helpful YouTube links. My question is how can i do a patch on my second card as its telling me its already patched instead of it ment to be saying found, found, found. This is while doing my second card. Thanks
Hi Vosk, thanks for you vids! Really appreciate your good work! I used your vids and link to flash my bios. You mention you will do another video for optimization. Please let me know. My hash rate is up! But so is wattage. Thanks again!
Hey Vosk, Thanks for all your content. I followed all the steps solid however I am not getting the same results with my cards. I am building out ASUS RX580 on ASUS b250 MB. After the BIOS Mod all speeds remain the same as before the Mod. But I am able to achieve faster speeds after Overclock in SMOS. Any Suggestions???
Hi man, awesome tutorial.... I've already done this and I can say it works perfectly, I gained 6 MHs per card on a 6 GPU rig. Now I was wondering, I have W10 and Blockchain Crimson Drivers 17, can I update it to Adrenaline drivers and set it to compute mode after I have biosmodded my cards ?
Do u have any idea of why atinwin flash wont do anything? It worked before, had a bunch of issues after mods on 2 cards went smooth. Lost one in claymore but since got that back to normal. I get one of 2 error messages or it wont open at all?
Changes made on the amd bios mod settings, does it save the settings into the graphics card as well or just on the computer hard drive? Not sure if the graphics card has any kind of memory chip to save any settings applied to it.
Just curious cos I'm trying to move from windows OS to Simple mining OS, trying to see if the edited Bios mode will work on SMOS as well.
So this is it ?! 0o0
enabling bios mod on amd card running a miner from edited batch downloading ati flash saving original bios file downloading polarisbioseditor picking original bios file changing its timings via one click on one click timing patch section saving it as modded bios file opening ati flash again loading modded bios file controling via pixel clock patcher restarting computer and i get my 31 mh/s on rx 570 4g 580 4g 8g ( every memory ) ?
does it work on windows 7 ultimate 64 bit ?
can i use modded gpus for simpleminer after patching one by one ?
do i really need simplemining os if 6 rx 580 runs on win 7 ultimate 64 bit with edited batch miner ?
can i dual switch 2 700 watt 80+ gold psu s for 1 rig 6 580 rx 8g different oem s and another one rx 570 rx 580 4g with 2 more 700 watt 80+ gold
How about this PSU with integrated 4 pci-e connectors extern to 2 4+2 pci-e connectors
EVEREST RAMPAGE ETX-750 80PLUS GOLD 750W or THERMALTAKE SMART RGB 80 PLUS 700W and wich risers pci-e powered or molex ?
First time reaching out. Working on my first build and using MSI Radeon 570 with Micron memory. Mining Eth on nanopool before mod 15.7mh/s, after mod 16.7 and after mod and overclocking 17.8 mh/s. It's an improvement but all the numbers seem low and the improvements are less than 10 % each. Is this because of the Micron memory? am I doing something wrong?
dude this brought me from 16-17mhs on an RX 480 (overclocked-highest I could get it with MSI) to 29.5mhs. Just the new AMD blockchain drivers brought me to 25! then the BIO added another 4.5mhs. Thank you!!! i am left with two questions 1. what are the best overclock settings for this mod ? I messed with mem clock and crashed instantly... and also 2. what would be the best process when doing this for 5 more cards? just set up the original bios files then the second one for all cards? if 5 of my gpus are the same model do i need to save the original bios for each and then do this for each or can I do it once and apply to all? THANKS!
Hi buddy, excellent tutorial... However i was wondering, after you biosmod your cards your hashrate goes up obviously, but what happen with your power consumption and temperature ?? I'm assuming your power consumption will go up somehow as weel as your temperature, unless this biosmod method have some sort of "undervolting" process embedded... is that so or do I have to undervolt my cards with MSI afterburner or something similar?? Thanks man
Modded my bios using solaris bios editor, atiwinflash, pixelpatcher and everything. Was going ok. Then started using MSI afterburner but my speeds didn’t change. So i uninstalled afterburner. Programed my old bios again, FORGOT to use the pixel patcher and rebooted. Then installed my bios mod again, used pixel patcher and rebooted.
But the pc doesn’t reboot. Tried every bios key i know but can’t get into the bios. Removed the cmos battery. Putted it back in. Still doesn’t boot.
All lights turn on but there is nothing on the monitor.
What should i do next?
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! Ive been so scared to mod my bios. I have a 9 card rig mostly of msi rx 580 armors...and just been using wattman out of fear-- cause of the price these cards nowadays. You made mining profitable for me again, basically adding a full card of hashrate. I would have never known I had two types of memory based on GPU-z saying just Elpida, and the one click gave me the two needed mods. This is absolutely the best method for the intermediate who might be fearful of bricking his/her GPU and not being able to recover it. Super easy...no missing steps.
step two, I'm trying to save ROM with atiWinflash and only saves empty file. OKB . I used .rom in name. Only one card and running on administrator mode. I got .ROm using GPU-z and now I got 256kb file but when I Load on AtiWinflash to program it, gives me read error rom file. I have monitor connected on vga motherboard, needs to do it on hdmi gpu?
Hey Vosk I bios mod my sapphire 550 4gb and now it doesnt show up in claymore as a mining card , it functions in windows but can't overclock with afterburner . I reset the bios back to normal and it works in claymore again just at 8.2mhs
I tried this on one of my RX560's which I am using to mine RavenCoin currently. It seemed to have disabled OpenCL and DirectCompute 5.0(per CPU-Z)and my SGMiner kept crashing. Had to revert back to stock BIOS, and I was able to mine again. Anyone heard of this happening, and if so, how to keep OpenCL and DirectCompute 5.0 enabled after modding BIOS?
My rx560 has two memory addresses. One for Hynix and one for Micron.
As soon as i start to flash the firmware the PC crashes, I let it be "crashed" for about 5 mins... Reboot.... Windows restarts, I apply the pixel patcher. Two minutes later PC crashes again with a purple screen...
Reboot and reflash the stock bios... That was scary...
Hey Vosk , I did a bios mod on my rx560 4gb and it failed towards the end and then the computer crashed and now I rebooted back up and the card I mod once its in the computer locks it up everytime . I cant get the card to remod the bios and I didn't know if there was a trick I could use to reflash it back to normal?
Dreamworld Treasury I’ve gone through several videos on how to bios mod my Armor RX580 8gb Micron. I can get above 18mh/s for each card (I have a 3 card build right now) even after several attempts at bios modding.
Thanks for the tip and the links to all the tools! Doing this increased my overall hashrate from 158 Mh/s to 184 Mh/s on my 6 card rig. I did notice that whenI overclocked the memory on some cards, they would crash, but I'm still getting excellent hash rates even at lower memory clock speeds.
Magnr is a handy cross-platform trading site connected to a few big Bitcoin exchanges. Accounts never require any personal data or identitiy proof. So signup is quick and possible with anonymous data.
Leverage is available at Kraken up to 5x for several cryptocurrency pairs, including bitcoin. The fees are depending on the volume of the margin account.

Advantages of Margin Trading.
The biggest benefit of margin trading is that you can take advantage of the additional funds when the market moves in the direction you expected. The overall profit of the positions once the bitcoins are soled and the loan is repaid is significantly higher compared to an ordinary trade execution.
Disadvantages of Margin Trading.

Due to the margin call, the margin account must be funded countinuesly that involves significant amount of liquidity. It is only advisable to trade on marking if you have enough experience already on the market. To mitigate the associated risk, many trading platforms only offers limited amount of leverage trading opportunites.
