try to by it and sending it to an iota wallet, or try from one wallet to another wallet and you will see that nothing works, i never came across something so difficult and big pain in the ass especially for people that are not so technical if it comes to these kind of things because you need to change nodes, or curl implementation, still nothing works! whats the point if you invest money in it if they steal your funds all the time (read on heloiota support) and iota won't be responsible + if you lucky and your coins won't get stolen, what's the point if it goes x 10 if you can't send it to an exchange without shitload of problems, right now can't even send it from one wallet to another one! i'm working on this since yesterday 8pm and it's now 10.30 pm the next day!
I'm saying IOTA is the best DLT project from last summer. Everyday I'm more & more sure about that, and that's the reason why so many actors are trying to attack it! ;-) I'm praying to pass 1-2 years and watch it out! Best Regards!
IoT Chain is a better alternative to IOTA in my opinion. IoT Chain (ITC) addresses IoT issues like security and privacy, which are the most important problems that will be solved by crypto-implementation. For example, in 2017 2 million IoT devices were infected by Botnets and ITC solves this by using asymmetrical encryption. It will use DAG (making it incredibly fast). It's backed by Hashed, Link Capital, and FBG Capital. They also have strategic alliances with Acute Angle Cloud and Adzar Energy.
Hi Louis, I'm having trouble finding the best wallet to store the IOTA currency I have currently held on Binance. I would appreciate your thoughts on this, please. Keep up the good work with the vids:-). Sorry, you have just coved this at the end of this vid, guess I was a little impatient? Guess we will have to wait.
Nice video! What is the best way to hold IOTA? I have some on exchange, though will transfer it out as soon as I have figured out where to hold it. Is the only option the official IOTA wallet? If so , I hope that's not like Cardano where it took about 6-8 hours to download the entire blockchain...Sorry if this has been addressed already but I'm having a day of portfolio housekeeping, and this is top of my list!
Tangle is an elegant solution to the problem of scalability and fees. I'm not surprise since it was developed by mathematicians. Blockchain meanwhile is like using an ax to dice vegetables. Bloated and inefficient.
smart/techsavy ppl with a vision : sleeping giant , invest long term, develop stuff on the protocol, learn about dag
spoiled cryptokids who never went trough the hard parts of actual new technolgy : wallet is painfull .. cry cry cry.., what is this reattachement? what is this snapshot thing?.
Have you read this review of IOTA? https://medium.com/@neha/cryptographic-vulnerabilities-in-iota-9a6a9ddc4367 There are a number of red flags identified in this article, especially related to the creation of their own hash function.
Here you go...
A Hash Collision Attack is an attempt to find two input strings of a hash function that produce the same hash result. Because hash functions have infinite input length and a predefined output length, there is inevitably going to be the possibility of two different inputs that produce the same output hash.
It should be extremely difficult to find a collision, as per the article, in this case it wasn't as they created their own hash function. Cryptography experts all agree, don't create your own crypto.
Good video and analysis. Outside of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin...which blockchain project are you most excited about?
I really like what Walton Coin and Power Ledger are aiming to accomplish. They are very exciting projects that could benefit real world business. Thanks for your thoughts.
It would be great, if people would stop to confuse a "broken, not working wallet" with a wallet that just doesn't hold your hand. IOTAs wallet is perfectly fine. If you can't use it, you also shouldn't go out on the streets without supervision, might be dangerous.
Q seems is more like an internal joke.
But who knows... if it´s true, the only things that would have a giant impact would be something like partnership with Qualcomm (instant 49.27% marketshare in global chip distribution)... or quantum computers, that would destroy SHA 256 forever .
IOTA cannot create a #[email protected] wallet and they are showcasing all kind of phantasmagoric stories. They lied about a bunch of partnerships (e.g. Microsoft) and they are very good at creating hypes. If you subscribe to their newsletter they are sending thousands of e-mails but bottom line is that no real use case of IOTA usage was put into place. For me IOTA is nothing but a bunch of crappy hypes with no foundation. Let's wait for the trinity wallet, Q and the rest of things they were announcing even from 2016....
BitCoin now has lightning so all payment coins are ZombiCoins. In 2018, BitCoin gets IoT as a tier 2 app. This means any IoT coins are now ZombiCoins.
IOTA always was and always will be, a ZombiCoin, its a "Dead Man Walking".
CMC doesn't indicate if one sh*t coin is better than another sh*t coin.
Oh my god, you haven't noticed that its broken and useless - I think you're a paid shill mate. Terrible - scam. They had years, couldn't even make a fucking wallet that is half as good as most crypto do in a very short time. How does it promise to be anything good when they fucked it so bad so far.
Great update on Iota, Louis! I'm not sure if you've seen it or not, but several people in the community are working on integrating the Ledger Nano S with the web wallet. There was an update a few days ago and they were able to generate the same address with the ledger and official wallet, using the same seed. There's still more work to be done like creating and signing transactions, but I think we're closer to having a hardware wallet functional with IOTA.
nvest in cryptocurrencies and earn profitable wages you need a strategy that will help you bypass market risk.. The strategy is programmed to optout portfolio when price is low.. It will also sell off or switch to higher cryptocurrencies keeping you on maximized payout.. I have made over $400k with this strategy without losing a dime.. more info contact [email protected]
Agree for the wallet issues - I sold my IOTA as their wallet was too complicated and I didn't want to keep it on exchange. I wasn't happy with their response after their hacks either - blaming their users for being so naive. At the end of the day, they kind of had a responsibility to make a more user friendly wallet/way of creating paper wallet
Purchasing is not simple (something that will also improve with time). In the U.S. my recommendation is to buy ETH through Coinbase or other means, then transfer ETH to Binance to buy your Iota. You can then transfer out to your wallet or hold on the exchange. You might want to wait for the Trinity wallet before transferring off the exchange.
Love IOTA, holding. Great video - personally many of the issues can be addressed by having a better marketing team. You employ a bunch of techs they will just tell it straight no fuzz and take no crap as we have seen...
Nice work, You mentioned BlocChain 3.0. Do you know of any papers/sites that outline the differences/advantages/Token examples of V3.0 vs. V2.0 (ETH, etc.)???? TYVM. and Happy Valentine's Day. Nice gifts.
There is certainly an emotional component to price. The whole crypto market has been beaten down by emotions lately, just as it was flying high based on emotions in December. But one person giving an update on a coin they hold does not equal "nonsense pumping." He's not yelling IIIIIIOOOOOOOOOOOOTTTTTTAAAAAAA!!!!
IOTA is currently UNDERVALUED by 1000 times actually...it is the ONLY coin with so much real world adoption...Bosch, Fujitsu, Volkswagen to name a few...Multi-billion Dollar /Multinational corporations would never invest in something that does not have potential it can deliver on. On top of that Iota has an amazing team of world class scientists
at 1000 times it would have to capture about $5 Trillions of global money supply, not even Bitcoin has managed to get to 1/10th of that number. Also, the so-called "amazin" team of scientists hasn't been able to manage to build a solid wallet, still!! Yet along a mobile wallet. Transactions are slow AF and for something that targets the Internet of Things that's supposed to be light weight and quick IOTA wallets are currently barely lagging around the massive CPUs taking nearly 100% of CPU usage. Maybe they will solve this at some point, but I have yet to see the light at the end of that tunnel.
I think Q refers to 'modul Q' from this post...
This could be referencing swarm intelligence, where a full node can be distributed between IoT devices. This solves issues with scalability. The Jinn ternary processor could be utilised in the IoT devices the be an efficient means of processing this data.
David talking about not releasing some "half ass product" . Please. How many of you guys have used that steaming pile of feces he is calling a "wallet" . Releasing half done idea is what the iota foundation does. That and market stuff decently well. I would bet one BTC that "Q" is just a bogus project to attract more "investors" and not anything game changing at all.
It was a mistake for them to avoid making a good P2P wallet. They are fixing that error with the team working on the Trinity wallet. Look at how much of the complaints have to do with the wallet--the wallet is not the technology! I will be curious to see how much the Trinity wallet will turn people's minds.
IOTA has crazy potential and the most interesting technology for the future. I trust the companies already involved, the foundation and talent acquired. Also the founders vision and how they work towards it is very respectable. The FUD we had regarding IOTA was often intentionally spread and artificial - get better informed. They have answered to criticism very professionally and all that is now clarified. Do that research guys.
IOTA is a game changer. No fees, infinite scalability, quantum resistant and will likely be using dedicated quantum computer hardware (=?Q). If interested in going down a rabbit whole research JINN and come_from_beyond. IOTA has the potential to revolutionise a whole bunch of industries for the better.
Super tech IMO! 2018/2019 will be great year to see it develop technically, this thing will go for real world adoption and implementation, see ya in 2021, will be going big this one! Thx for the vid, love it! Going long here!
This kind of pumping is quite unethical from IOTA team. It will just feed the fomo before announcement and I can bet you its not gonna be as ground breaking as most think.
.....unless it is Coo shutdown, then Im on FOMO wagon too :D
that's actually possible for more than 6 months now. https://arancauchi.github.io/IOTA-Paper-Wallet/ can't guarantee if legit (with that I mean, no scam, but works offline - see link on the bottom "Download an offline version of this site")
i think it is open source too
wallet works fine if you know how to use it and how to safely generate a seed. I agree it is not user friendly but that makes it cheaper to invest now before Trinity and everyone starts hopping on board :)
The 2 founders are big social idiots who regularly damage the pr of their project.
Together with the stupidity to ignore all their investors, and actually saying "fuck you" to us all by letting us get crazy over having to use a wallet which anyone wants to throw out the window after using it 3 minutes makes the whole IOTA thing garbage.
The idea is not bad, but the people doing it are.
i heard Dominik Schiener also puts on the toilet roll wrong!! when 3 minutes of learning is too much for you, please get out of crypto. when you invest your money in SOMETHING, please also invest some time to learn about it. you want massive gains, right? so do something, learn something instead of bad-mouthing.
It is UNDERVALUED by 1000 times actually...it is the ONLY coin with so much real world adoption...Bosch, Fujitsu, Volkswagen to name a few...Multibillion Dollar /Multinational corporations would never invest in something that does not ave potential. On top of that Iota has a team of world class scientists
Overvalued? Some quick maths shows that 1/21 millionth of a share of IOTA (I.e. 1 Bitcoin) (I.e. approximately 132 MIOTA) is currently trading at $250. The internet of things is soon to be a hundred plus billion dollar industry and IOTA hasn't ruled out using IOTA for currency transactions. So you've either not done your homework or repeating something that you've heard from someone who also has not done their homework :)
Of course cardano is faster then litecoin, the reason why iota is kinda shit is because they are doing too much at once, the network for iota is up and running and most if not all of the main features are technically working... I could not say the same for cardano. this was my point, I am not talking about the team behind them.
LOL. as is iota is absolute crap. some idiots think that it will work if the mesh network expands as though it is like a blanket yet to be woven for your transactions to get on. in reality it needs more users which it may never have. better tech isnt always better. Cardano has plenty of experts working on the product and i am confident they will achieve their goals over time. what Iota is trying to achieve in the next 3 years is much more narrow in scope than cardano. But I sincerely hope iota succeeds. Btw, according to charles, who does not seem the type to lie, cardano will be almost 9 times faster than litecoin by the end of Q2 (500TPS vs 56TPS). And they have reasonable plans to make it much faster.
Many people here have invested in Cardano because of the scientific mentality it claims to be based upon. However, I am very concerned by the actual product they have — which at this stage, is basically equivalent in function to a PoS Litecoin. They promise to create a smart contract platform, but there is no public code for this, no testnet and no release.
Cardano is not released end of story
Great arguments. Meanwhile the adoption for IOTA grows, more partnerships and exchanges are in the works, use-cases being worked on with giant companies, 50-100 people will be hired this year on top of the 60 they already have around the world,... We even hit 90TPS this week with just a small test. But yeah, IOTA isn't real though!
The fact IOTA couldn't get their wallet working has put me off buying any more of their coins. I actually bought in at near ATH which was a double whammy. Just currently waiting with a double priced bag.
You will be able to exit soon enough without a loss if you want, but you could also hold a bit longer for a profit. Iota price is just tracking Bitcoin lately (as has pretty much the entire crypto market). It will break free again.
I sold my iota when they've sent my reclaim back. They let me wait about 2 1/2 months to send me my funds back which they saved because I had a open transaction while they needed to fix a major bug which would've lead to my funds being stolen. They let the majority of people believe that they only took funds in custody because of address reuse & curl not transitioned but there are many cases like mine. They fucked up as a company imo, but probably will still succeed (or already do somehow) -still there are better investments where I put my money.
wallet works as it should, just not friendly for speculators that don't put any effort in what they want to invest in (for the massive gains the expect). wallet did not have priority. an idiot-proof wallet that holds your hands will be out within weeks and is in development by UCL (university in london) for many months now. it will blow you away!
adoption is far away for iota...hiring new GOOD developers for a nonprofit organisation too, their wallet is crap, alot of technical problems, idea is good but i dont think they will get it done soon ... if ever
the wallet works fine, just not for grandma yet.. the network is fine, 2-4min confirmation, there are no technical problems ... there are good developers/researchers/cryptoghrapers today and more beeing hired every month. If you don't see the big picture yet thats ok. tech companies can see it and have poc's today. the companies are the biggest crypto has ever seen .. no other coin come's even close to any of that today. There is more demand for partnership/participants as iota foundation can handle right now. they have to say no.. to a lot of requests. .. Now i want to go into crazy specluation : iota extention Q , if Q is what i think it is(distributed computing) . it will kill pow blockchains over time . just take a lower hashrate pow coin.. focus available iot computing power to it. mine all blocks, sell rewards for iota distribute it to the participants
Funny you say it lacks good developers. You don't seem to know them very well:
Many of the things in Etherium road map, for example, were invented by them, and David Sonstebo is a freaking genious. And the iota foundation grows bigger every week, with good and competent people. I don't know any other crypto with so many people working on it. Wallet problem is easy to solve and trinity is comming within weeks.
There has never been a doublespend. The wallet has been a crappy user experience. The team was so focused on building for M2M that they did not plan for all the people needing a smooth wallet experience. That has changed--they have a team working on a great wallet (now in alpha testing). https://coincentral.com/interview-iota-david-sonstebo-taipei-partnership-identity-of-things/ if you want a sense of what is going on with the foundation. To see the speed of new developments, consider what is new since Jan 1:
the wallet is the worst i have ever used, doublespend problems, neverending pending transactions,i had to use a commandline wallet (cli wallet) to use my funds, not userfriendly at all. With adoption i mean mainstream adoption, i dont think that iota will reach mainstream in the next 3 years, i even think they will never solve their problems. You said "even Micrsoft" thats nothing special at all, many cryptos are working or supported by microsoft
No offense but I have Question please, Have you got paid by the IOTA team for this video for promotion purposes, if yes do you think you are morally obligated to disclose this information to your audience ? Greatly appreciated.
agenttank The question is perfectly valid. For the benefit of transparency a confirmation either way should really be in the video or description. Firstly, he would be breaking the law by receiving money to promote something and not declaring it. Secondly, it would greatly harm his image by doing so, therefore I would hope it is not the case.
Magnr is a handy cross-platform trading site connected to a few big Bitcoin exchanges. Accounts never require any personal data or identitiy proof. So signup is quick and possible with anonymous data.
Leverage is available at Kraken up to 5x for several cryptocurrency pairs, including bitcoin. The fees are depending on the volume of the margin account.
Bitcoin can be traded on GDAX up to 5x leverage. The margin trading option must be manually turned on the account in order to make sure the users understands and reads the associated risks.
Margin trading is basically borrowing funds to purchase an asset, this allows you to buy more bitcoins that you would normally be able to do normally in the hope of making bigger profits on the price movements.
Advantages of Margin Trading.
The biggest benefit of margin trading is that you can take advantage of the additional funds when the market moves in the direction you expected. The overall profit of the positions once the bitcoins are soled and the loan is repaid is significantly higher compared to an ordinary trade execution.
Disadvantages of Margin Trading.
The disadvantage of margin trading is by nature the amount of risk a margin account can hold. The higher amount of leverage you take the bigger amount of money you can loose in case the market moves in an unfavorable way. Due to the margin call, the margin account must be funded countinuesly that involves significant amount of liquidity. It is only advisable to trade on marking if you have enough experience already on the market. To mitigate the associated risk, many trading platforms only offers limited amount of leverage trading opportunites.
